Domain Name Management

Filing for a Domain Name

As a member of AFNIC and Internic, LINKBYNET has legal authority to file and manage its Clients’ domain names with “.fr”, ".com", ".net", or any other suffix chosen. Before registering, we make sure the domain name is still available.

Re-Delegation of Domain Name

In the context of a platform migration, an inventory of the domain names enables us to draw up a list of the actions required: re-delegation, if necessary, and web server configuration.

Change of Domain Name Owner

The change is a transfer of ownership: changing the registrant in the registrar's database. We take charge of the procedure and guide you through the steps to a successful conclusion.

Switching Providers

In the process of transferring the domain name from your previous provider to LINKBYNET, we keep track of the process right up to transfer validation.

 Domain Name Renewal

Your domain name is registered with a registrar for a 1- or 2-year period. Renewal means extending the exclusive ownership and use of the domain name. After the 1 or 2 year period expires the domain name goes back to the public domain. A month before the expiry date, LINKBYNET will contact you to initiate the renewal process.

Annual Domain Name Management on DNS Servers

The function of “Domain Name Servers” is to look up the actual IP address of the device associated to the domain name entered by the Internet user. Domain names are resolved by being registered on two DNS servers: the primary and the secondary.

LINKBYNET provides DNS hosting on its own primary and secondary DNS servers, which are located in separate datacenters, protected behind the firewalls within its multi-network infrastructure, and allocated to two different IP ranges.

This service means you control TTL configuration and shortens refresh times.

Setting Up Subdomains

You don’t have to purchase an additional domain name with sub-domains. Besides you  have an easy url to remember and to disseminate. They can be used in various contexts:

Web-Sites associated with multiple subsidiaries, brands, products.
Event websites.
Specific Topics of a website (e.g. forum.domain.com)

With subdomains you don’t have to purchase additional domain names and the URL is still easy for everyone to remember.

They can be used in various contexts:

Multiple web-sites for subsidiaries, brands, or products.

Event websites.

Specific website sub-headings (e.g. forum.domain.com)

Our teams take care of the creation and set-up of subdomains under the domains already on our DNS servers.
